ALBUQUERQUE – A Dulce was man indicted on federal charges alleging he seriously injured another individual during an assault.According to court records, on October 27, 2025, Russell Alan Veneno, 50, an enrolled member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation, assaulted John Doe with a table and a knife, and the assault resulted in serious bodily injury.Veneno is federally charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. If convicted, Veneno faces up to 10 years in prison.First Assisting U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Justin A. Garris, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, made the announcement today.The Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office investigated this case with assistance from the Jicarilla Apache Police Department.
