BEAUMONT, Texas – A federal inmate has been charged with allegedly possessing contraband in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.Robert Anthony Summers, 44, was named in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas this week charging him with possession of a prohibited object, specifically a weapon or shank, at the Federal Correctional Complex in Beaumont.If convicted, Summers faces up to 5 years in federal prison.This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Prisons and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Russell James.A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt.
