PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 10 years of imprisonment on his conviction of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced today.United States District Judge W. Scott Hardy imposed the sentence on Timothy Bazmore, aka “Shim,” 35.According to information presented to the Court, Bazmore was caught in possession of approximately 22 grams of crack cocaine as well as a firearm magazine loaded with several rounds of ammunition. The defendant was prohibited under federal law from possessing ammunition due to his multiple prior felony convictions.Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Hardy stated that the sentence was warranted for a number of reasons, including Bazmore’s extensive criminal history.Assistant United States Attorney Douglas C. Maloney prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.United States Attorney Rivetti commended the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Bazmore.
