ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A Woodbridge man pled guilty today to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.According to court documents, on Feb. 18, 2026, Fairfax County Police (FCPD) responding to a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute at an apartment in Herndon arrived to find Khari Wheeler, 27, who acknowledged that he had been knocking on the door of the apartment. When officers attempted to conduct a pat down, Wheeler attempted to flee, at which point a loaded handgun he had been carrying fell from his person. Wheeler was apprehended after a brief pursuit. USAO EDVA As a previously convicted felon, Wheeler cannot legally possess firearms or ammunition.Wheeler is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 22 and faces up to 15 years in prison.
